How to setup your
connection:
- Click on the [Start] button
- Click on [All Programs]
- Move your mouse over [Accessories]
- Now mouse over [Communications]
- Click on [New Connection Wizard] from the
menu.
- The New Connection Wizard
window now appears. Click "next"
- In this window [Network
Connection Type], select "Connect to the Internet",
then click "Next".
- In this window [Getting Ready],
select "Set up
my connection manually", then click
"Next".
- In this window [Internet
Connection], select "Connect using a
dial-up modem", then click
"Next".
- In this window [Connection
Name], in the box below ISP Name, type
in "Dependanet", then click
"Next".
- In this window [Phone Number
to Dial], type in the local access number
that your computer will dial to connect to
Dependanet. HINT: do not use spaces or dashes, then click
"Next".
NOTICE: Dependanet is not responsible for call charges associated with your use of our service. Please verify the
local access number you have selected in relation to your dialing area. City names and area codes are not necessarily complete indicators of the locality (toll free access)
to your calling area. In some areas, local calls are metered
by your local phone company. If you're not sure,
and for ease of mind, please contact your local telephone company
to make sure.
- In this window [Connection
Availability], choose either option (your
choice), then click
"Next". (hint: if
anyone else in your household/office will be using
the same connection, select "Anyone's
use")
- In this window [Internet
Account Information], you need to enter your
connection information.
a) Type in your Dependanet user name in the box labeled
"User name." Example: myuserid@dependanet.com.
This would have been provided to you in your
account confirmation email from our office.
b) Type in your Password in the
box labeled "Password"
c) Type in your Password again in
the box labeled "Confirm password"
d) The rest of the options (check boxes)
are optional and your choice. We
suggest leaving all 3 boxes "checked" by
default.
e) Click "next"
- This is the final step in setting
up your connection. Just click "Finish".
