Setting Up Your Connection
- Click on the [Start] button.
- Go Settings then Control Panel.
Click on [Network and Dial-up Connections].
- In this window, double click on [Make
New Connection].
- The Network Connection Wizard
opened, just click [Next].
- In this window, select the option
[Dial-up to the Internet] and click
"next".
- In this window, Type in your
local access number in the field labeled
"Phone number."
If you didn't already write down the number, you can find your local access number
by clicking on your state in the Dialup section
(US, Canada, Puerto Rico) in the navigation bar on
left.
NOTICE: Dependanet is not responsible for call charges associated with your use of our service. Please verify the
local access number you have selected in relation to your dialing area. City names and area codes are not necessarily complete indicators of the locality (toll free access) to your calling area. In some areas, local calls are metered
by your local phone company. If you're not sure,
and for ease of mind, please contact your local telephone company
to make sure.
- In this window [Connection
Availability], the option is your choice. If
other members of your household will be using this
computer to connect, we suggest [For all users].
Select either and click [Next].
- In this window, type in the name
you want to call this connection. We suggest
"Dependanet" (name the connection
whatever you want).
The option to add a shortcut to your desktop is up
to you. Then click [Finish].
You now have just created your new connection to
Dependanet and have a new icon in the Network and
Dialup folder that you just created. Double click
the new icon to get started.
